The Election Fee on Wednesday ordered Twitter India to take away all tweets associated to exit polls.
Twitter was but to react to the EC order.
Because the seven-phase Lok Sabha elections solely involves an finish on Could 19, the ballot panel directed the micro-blogging platform to take away all such tweets.
The Election Fee had requested “as to why action should not be taken against them for violation of provision of section 126A of Representation of the People Act”.
On Tuesday, the ballot panel had despatched notices to a few media homes for publishing surveys predicting the outcomes.
The exit polls can be introduced on Could 19, after voting within the final section of the Lok Sabha elections.
