Employees of cash-strapped Jet Airways Saturday protested exterior Terminal three of the Indira Gandhi International Airport right here searching for launch of pending salaries.

The beleaguered airline, which is flying simply six-seven plane on Saturday, has requested its lenders to grant some “interim funding”. Its staff expect to be paid their pending salaries as soon as the recent funding comes by.

Jet Airways on Thursday grounded its companies to and from the East and Northeast areas and suspended its worldwide operations until Monday. Consequently, many passengers had been left stranded on the airports.

Employees of Jet Airways gathered exterior Terminal three of their uniform for a silent protest on Saturday afternoon. They carried banners that learn “ Save Jet Airways, Save our future” and “Hear our cry, Let 9W fly”. 9W is the code for Jet Airways flights, identical to 6E is for IndiGo flights. On Friday, Jet Airways staff took out a silent march in Mumbai. Civil Aviation Secretary Pradeep Singh Kharola had earlier mentioned that the airline would fly simply 6-7 plane on Saturday and Sunday. At its peak, the airline flew a 119-aircraft fleet. On Monday, the lenders – lead by SBI – would once more meet the administration of Jet Airways which is able to current a plan to make use of the “interim funding”, if granted.
